Shopping for Jeans! Tips for shorter gals

9/18/22

As many of you know, I am 5'1" and one of the many reasons I decided to open a boutique was to help shorter / petite women find clothes that fit, especially jeans!!

Do you have a hard time finding jeans that are the perfect rise, length and a great amount of stretch?! Same.. So let me give you a few helpful tips on how to find the perfect pair!

1. The Rise

The "rise" is the measurement from the waistband to the bottom of the crotch. I always look for a 9"-10.5" inch rise. Anything less is too low rise, anything more is usually too high for this short body! A lot of high rise jeans are WAY too high for me and not very comfortable.

2. The Inseam

The inseam is the measurement from the crotch to the bottom of the pant leg. When it comes to inseam, 26.5" usually seems to be the sweet spot! This inseam usually hits me right about at the ankle, if you want more of a crop look, typically 25.5"-26" is a good length for that!

3. Comfort & Stretch

As a mom of two, my jeans typically need to have some stretch or I just won't end up wearing them. Jeans with spandex are always the way to go. 1%-2% spandex is SOOO comfortable! The perfect amount of give & they will still hold their shape.

I always share fit videos on our jeans so that you can see how certain items fit me. My size fluctuates SO much in jeans, and not all brands fit me the same way either! I hope this helps you find the perfect pair of jeans!
